Overview of the English Course

Our English language courses for adults in Malta are offered in the dynamic city of St Julian's, famous for its sandy beach (St George's Bay), its nightlife district (Paceville), its marina (Portomaso) and its huge modern shopping center (Mercury Tower). The packages include English courses, various accommodation options and airport pick-up on arrival.

To facilitate student integration, the school is divided into two distinct groups: students under 30 and those over 30. This age-based separation promotes integration and optimizes English learning in a suitable environment.

English Courses

The English courses for the language stay are offered in two formats: General English, commonly referred to as GE20 (15 hours of lessons per week), and Intensive English, commonly referred to as GE30 (22 hours and 30 minutes of lessons per week).

Both formats are available with two different schedules. The standard format offers an alternating schedule every other day, with classes distributed in the morning or afternoon. The "morning classes" option, on the other hand, offers classes exclusively in the morning, every day of the week. In the intensive format with the "morning" option, however, some classes must take place in the early afternoon: students are therefore released at 2:30 PM.

To facilitate integration and learning, classes are divided into two groups: students over 30 years old and those under 30. Students over 30 have a dedicated space. Groups are organized by age range and in small class sizes, with a maximum of 14 students per class. Students are placed according to their level and progress gradually by moving up classes based on their improvement. Lessons are interactive and particularly emphasize oral expression, participation, and interaction between students. The level-based classes and minimum age requirement help create a favorable environment for learning and speaking.

Reviews of the Language Stay in St Julian's with EC Malta

The language stay in Malta with English courses offered by EC is an excellent option for making rapid progress in English. The school has one of the best academic departments in the archipelago, recognized for the quality of its teaching. The courses are rigorous, well-structured, and the teachers are particularly dedicated to their students' success. The mix of nationalities is also very balanced, allowing you to discover new cultures and use English constantly, regardless of participants' backgrounds. The school is also a safe bet for more mature students, especially those over 30: by separating spaces and classes according to age groups, EC significantly facilitates integration and learning.

As for accommodation, the two options — shared apartments or host families — cover most needs. The apartments are modern and comfortable, even if their price is rather on the higher end. However, they remain one of the best solutions for integrating quickly and enjoying a rich social experience.

Questions about the Language Stay in St Julian's with EC

EC Malta is one of the most reputable English schools in the archipelago, accredited by FELTOM and internationally recognized. Located in St Julian's, in the heart of the tourist area, the school offers modern facilities, quality teachers, and a multicultural atmosphere bringing together students from over 45 nationalities. With over 30 years of experience, EC guarantees serious learning in an ideal environment combining study and relaxation.

No English level is required. Students of all levels, from complete beginner (A1) to advanced (C1), are accepted. Before arrival, each participant must complete an online test to be placed in a class corresponding to their level.

Two accommodation options are offered: host family with half-board, ideal for total immersion, and shared apartments with complete independence, perfect for meeting other international students. All options are located near the school or easily accessible by bus.

The price depends on the duration, type of course, and accommodation chosen. The longer the duration, the lower the weekly rate. Stays start at around €1000 for two weeks (course + accommodation) and can reach approximately €10,000 for 24 weeks. EC Malta is a premium school, but remains more affordable than its centers in the UK or Ireland.

Malta can be visited year-round thanks to its Mediterranean climate. To benefit from lower rates, the low season (September to May) is ideal. The high season (June to September) offers a more festive atmosphere, but higher prices. Spring and autumn (April-May / September-October) often represent the best compromise: pleasant climate, fewer tourists, and attractive rates.

European Union citizens, including French nationals, do not need a visa to study in Malta, regardless of the length of stay. A valid identity card or passport is sufficient. For non-EU students, a student visa may be required for stays longer than 90 days. It is advisable to check the requirements with the Maltese embassy in your country.

A comprehensive social program is offered with daily activities, some free and others paid: international student evenings, water sports, beach volleyball, guided tours of Valletta and Mdina, excursions to Gozo and the Blue Lagoon of Comino, boat trips, diving courses, etc. These activities allow you to practice English in a relaxed setting while discovering the archipelago and meeting students from around the world.

Malta has an efficient and economical public bus network covering the entire island. The price of a journey is €1.50 (€2 in high season), valid for two hours. A bus stop is located less than a minute from the school. Located in the heart of St Julian's, EC benefits from an ideal location allowing you to reach most places in less than 30 minutes.
